We conserve, characterize and preserve the genetic purity of 300+ traditional paddy varieties including 18 Tamil Nadu varieties in Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Viluppuram districts of Tamil Nadu.

From over 1,10,000 traditional paddy varieties, India currently has about only 6000. Maintaining their genetic purity and conservation has become tantamount for preserving them for the next generation.
